A little bit introduction to how fuel cell work, might reveal why this amazing technology will not be able to power your car or my car
.
Firstly, you are going to ‘pump’ hydrogen and oxygen gas at your nearest fuel cell refill station. Storing and refilling hydrogen and oxygen is harder if compare to gas/fuel in liquid form. Storing the hydrogen and oxygen gas seperately in your vehile is not an easy task too.
So now, you having difficulties to refill and use it daily. Will you travel 50km to your nearest refill centre every week? just to safe on few dollars on petrol? NOT.
Fuel cell generate electricity through the chemical reaction during fusion of oxygen and hydrogen molecule to form water. When this happen, electron are released and harvest by fuel cell. And used to power your vehicle. Output is just water. Brilliant idea! Naaa…
Why not just use a Litium or NiMh battery that do the same trick and much much easier to develop. Result in far less cost if compare with fuel cell. Recharging can be done at home or garage which you prefer.
